Paul Atterbury is a writer\, lecturer\, curator\, historian and broadcaster with an eclectic and wide-ranging interest in the art\, architecture\, design and history of the 19th and 20th centuries. \nPaul is widely known for his many appearances since 1979 on the BBC TV programme Antiques Roadshow. He specialises in the art\, architecture\, design and decorative arts of the 19th and 20th centuries. \nPaul has written or edited over 50 books on art\, antiques\, ceramics\, silver\, sculpture\, canals\, railways\, travel and the First World War. At one point he was Britain’s best-selling railway writer. His first book was published in 1969 and the most recent a few of years ago. Paul will be bringing some examples of his books to Oundle. \nHis original training was in graphic design (his father was a printer)\, and Paul has worked in all areas of publishing and journalism.
